This part is a fraction of the cost of the original OEM Len cap but protects the lens just as well. I still ordered an OEM cap as well to retain the value of my GM lens but this is a no brainer for the price if you lost the original cap and need to protect the lens. I also appreciate that the lens caps come in different colors, it makes for a quick way to identify this lens in a packed camera bag with other lenses! Great seller and great product.
